I was bored a few nights ago while my sister was hogging the computer and decided to do a pencil work for the first time in a long while. I ended up drawing a robot monk. I guess he picked up his faith from his designer or somethin'?
Truth be told I just thought a robot would look cute in a robe.
I applied the methods of using charcoal on this one, so it ended up having a more realistic quality about it.
I took a charcoal drawing class once when I was about 16. The teacher was a real a##hole, and seemed really biased toward his own form of art. He made fun of pencil artists openly saying something like, "they can make chicken scratches all they want, but charcoal is the best form of drawing."
I don't even remember the jerk's name, but I dedicate this pencil art to him.
I haven't used charcoal ever since I got out of that class. (Not just because he made me hate it, but because compressed charcoal and good paper is pretty dang expensive.)
Charcoal is great art, of course. Just hope you don't get a butthead teacher to teach it to you. Drawn with mechanical pencil and smudged with a tissue paper. Commission Info
