And now for why I like cartoon/anthropomorphized animals!:
Besides being fun to draw, it just feels like a good way to take a step out of reality and look at things in a different way. It works for humor (Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny -- would be totally different if they were humans) it works for drama and adventure (Watership Down and Redwall) it works for mysticism and morality (The Wind in the Willows) and so on and so forth.
It adds a different style of curiosity and storytelling.
Which is why when people only draw them for *ahem* sexy purposes it kinda makes me sad. :/ Gives the rest of us who are actually trying to make real stories a bad name.
As if my female characters will strip to reveal huge unrealistic boobies. >..> Grr!

i agree. now, sexual content, when kept low, can be used to deepen or break bonds between characters. it is used in major novels and movies, so why can't it be used in the anthro community!?!
