Is that a chicken in there with you? by Zimeta Is that a chicken in there with you? by Zimeta
My fourth contribution to the :icondisney-club: Villains Collaboration is Mombi and the lead wheeler from Return to OZ. I was also thinking about drawing the Nome King, but alas the movie ended before I could start a sketch of him.

For those who haven't seen the film, I'll tell you right now; It's dark and scary as heck. And not Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland fake dark. This movie's dark without trying! The animatronics, the stop motion, the crazy costumes... it's nuts. But, it is actually a good film.

Hmm, it seems since I'm going for more obscure villains they're mostly (if not all) going to be live action movies. :D

And about the title... you'd have to see the movie.

Have you ever thought about drawing Nome King and Loki from Thor 1/2/Avengers (Disney owns Marvel and Marvel films now remember?)?

Very nice drawing of Mombi and her wheeler henchman.

Would you love to see Oz in Kingdom Hearts based on both the new movie and this movie? Jack Pumpkinhead can join with Goofy, Donald and Sora to battle flying monkeys, the wicked witch, Mombi, Wheelers and the Nome King to save Oscar and Scarecrow.

I'm not a fan of Kingdom Hearts, but I'm sure it'd be a nice thing for the fans to have OZ in the game. :)

Since teh prequel's sequel is coming soon in 2015, let's write to Disney to tell them to do an anniversary blu-ray/DVD combo of this cult classic to cash in on the new sequel and do extras like documentary retrospective, trailers, TV spots, radio spots, interviews, commentary, deleted scenes etc.

Besides Oz, i also want Tangled, Princess and Frog, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Muppets, Dinosaurs, Gargoyles, Ducktales, Oliver and Company, Great Mouse Detective, Black Cauldron, Robin Hood, Black Hole and the Marvel Cinematic Universe worlds (Thor/Captain America/Iron Man/The Avengers)

Awesome drawing!
For some reason i always was more terrified of Mombi, than of Wheelers. I mean she had all those heads of pour dancers and.... The whees of Whelers are metal, they aren`t part of their skeleton so maybe she....Well thats high time for me to shut up ><

It's awesome to see Return to Oz fan art. :)

And the movie is dark because the source material is dark - Baum's books are actually really dark and creepy, way more so than the movie (although he didn't have electro-shock therapy, so that was a creepy extra twist). If you liked the movie and haven't read the books, I recommend them. They're a lot of fun. Return to Oz combined the second and third Oz books, The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz, both by L. Frank Baum.

I doubt well see any of them excluding the MCP and Maximus in Epic Mickey 2. Maybe a Wheeler beetleworx.

This movie was definitely one I love, and was scared of, as a kid. You're right about one thing: Its definitely dark without trying, especially Mombi's heads in those cases, the wheelers, and that sand that turns everything into sand. It definitely puts Burton's Alice in Wonderland into shame for being the most elaborate in imaginative, and insane, FX. Amazing job on this, especially the look on Mombi's other head, and your Wheeler's outfit.
